Find Your Perfect HVAC Filter in 60 Seconds
The right filter is about three things: size, MERV, and timing. Follow this quick guide and you’ll be done in a minute.
Step 1: Confirm your size
- Remove your current filter and read the printed size (e.g., 16x25x1). That’s the nominal size.
- If it’s missing or odd, measure width × height × thickness to the nearest 1/8″. Note: nominal vs. actual often differs by ~0.25″.
- Tip: Return grille filters (in the ceiling/wall) and furnace slot filters use the same sizing format.
Step 2: Choose your MERV
Note: Higher MERV captures more but can reduce airflow if your system is marginal. When in doubt, start at 11.
Step 3: Pick a US‑made brand
We prioritize US‑made filters for consistency, fit, and quick ship times. See our vetted brands.
